101 Devotionals for Boys #60

101 Devotionals for Boys from the Lives of Great Christians and 101 Devotionals for Girls from the Lives of Great Christians will both be published in 2017. We’re publishing one or two devotionals a week to give you a taste of what you’ll get in those two gift books. This one is based on a story in Joy Ridderhof: Voice Catcher around the World (Potter’s Wheel series #2).

***************

Joy Ridderhof and Ann Sherwood trekked all over the world with their heavy, bulky recording equipment, recording as many tribal languages as they could. Sometimes the equipment didn’t work, and then they couldn’t make a recording.

But back at their office in California, some engineers and inventors were always trying to make better recording equipment. They made it smaller, lighter, and more efficient. Every time they invented something new, they were excited to send it to Joy and Ann.

There are so many jobs to do in the Kingdom of God. Some people are called to preach and teach. But many more are called to do other jobs, like inventing and fixing. Many people can help God’s work behind the scenes, just by making equipment work the way it should. God delights in all the ways His children serve Him.

No matter what your gifts or skills are, there are ways you can use them in the Kingdom of God.

“Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whom the LORD has put skill and intelligence to know how to do any work in the construction of the sanctuary shall work in accordance with all that the LORD has commanded.” ~Exodus 36:1

Heavenly Father, thank you for the talents and skills You’ve given me. Show me how I can use them for Your Kingdom.
