101 Devotionals for Boys #45

101 Devotionals for Boys from the Lives of Great Christians and 101 Devotionals for Girls from the Lives of Great Christians will both be published in 2017. We’re publishing one or two devotionals a week to give you a taste of what you’ll get in those two gift books. This one  is based on a story from Living Water in the Desert: True Stories of God at Work in Iran (Hidden Heroes #6).

***************

“You are a Muslim, and you will never be a Christian!” Hossein’s uncle yelled. “You will renounce this Christianity!”

But Hossein had found true salvation in Jesus Christ. How could he deny Him?

His family begged and pleaded and threatened. Finally they rejected him.

When Hossein thought about how he no longer had a family to share love with, his heart was heavy. But he loved Jesus more.

Hossein traveled to the home of a Christian friend, and that family embraced him as a member of their own family. They told him that he was their spiritual brother.

Even if your own family members were to reject you for your faith in Christ, you could still find brothers and sisters in the faith. Because God is our Father, all of us who believe in Jesus Christ are brothers and sisters. If you’ve trusted in Jesus, you have a gigantic family!

Jesus said, “For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.” ~Mark 3:35

Thank You, Lord, for the family You’ve given me. Thank you that my spiritual family extends far beyond my physical family.
