101 Devotionals for Boys #42

101 Devotionals for Boys from the Lives of Great Christians and 101 Devotionals for Girls from the Lives of Great Christians will both be published in 2017. We’re publishing one or two devotionals a week to give you a taste of what you’ll get in those two gift books. This one  is based on a story from Lights in a Dark Place: True Stories of God at Work in Colombia (Hidden Heroes #5).

***************

It was a miracle! Chief Nacio, who had been almost dead, was not only alive, but walking toward Chad Stendal! He wanted to listen to the Bible stories in the Kogi language that Chad had brought.

“Those are real stories,” the chief said, nodding. He called for all the Kogis from his area to come and listen.

And yet, the spiritual darkness was great, and the Kogis in other areas fought against the coming of the gospel. They were afraid, because of what Spanish explorers had done to their people hundreds of years before.

Even now, only a small percentage of the Kogi Indians in the Santa Marta Mountains of northern Colombia have believed in Jesus Christ. The others continue to live in darkness and fear. Will you pray that the Lord will send more courageous people to teach them the Truth and show them the Way and bring them the Light?

“Then [Jesus] said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” ~Matthew 9:37-38

Lord of  harvest, please send out more workers to tell people about You. Help me to be willing to go if that’s what You want me to do.
