Nobody could ever trust anything the Sawis said. But Don Richardson found out there was one honest custom, called the Peace Child. When people from the two Sawi villages exchanged babies, they would have peace as long as the peace child was alive.
Don Richardson saw a great opportunity. He told the Sawi men that the Greatest Spirit had sent His own Son to be the Peace Child of the world. Because He rose from the dead, He would always be alive to bring peace to the heart of anyone who would trust Him.
If you’ve heard the story of Jesus all your life, you may not think it’s amazing. But imagine these men hearing for the first time that there is an eternal Peace Child, and that they can have peace with the Greatest Spirit. Many Sawis trusted in the Peace Child of God, and today, the Sawi tribe is a Christian tribe.

Thank you, Father, for sending Jesus to die for our sins. Thank you that He is the eternal Peace Child of God and we can always find peace with You through Him.
