101 Devotionals for Boys #29

101 Devotionals for Boys from the Lives of Great Christians and 101 Devotionals for Girls from the Lives of Great Christians will both be published in 2017. We’re publishing one or two devotionals a week to give you a taste of what you’ll get in those two gift books. This one  is based on a story from George Mueller: Pickpocket to Praying Provider (Potter’s Wheel series #3).

***************

More and more people began to find out that George Mueller cared for orphans without ever asking for money. More and more people began to send him money to help with this important work.

What would you do if many people were sending you money for the Lord’s work? Would you treat it carefully? Would you use it only to buy the things that are needed for the work of the Lord? Would you be faithful, or would you try to secretly take some of it for yourself?

George kept a record of every single penny he received, and how it was spent for the work of God. He wanted his life to show the glory of God, so this was very important to him.

By the end of his life, millions of dollars’ worth of goods and money had gone through his hands. And he was faithful in every little bit.

“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.” ~Luke 16:10

Lord, thank You for examples of faithfulness like George Mueller. Help me to be faithful in the work You’ve called me to do, as he was.
