Reviews of “Lights in a Dark Place: True Stories of God at Work in Colombia”

Lights-in-a-Dark-Place cover finalAs of today, Hidden Heroes #5, which came out in the States last November,  has received seven five-star reviews on Amazon U.S. (and a few more on Amazon U.K.). Here are snippets from them!

We loved this book just as we have loved each of the Hidden Heroes books! This book contains fascinating stories of how the gospel has gone forth in Colombia in spite of much opposition.

Like each of the Hidden Heroes, this book is a great read-aloud and is beautifully written in an easy to understand way. We enjoy reading a chapter together during our Bible time each day, and I enjoy them just as much as my children do. The thing that excites me the most is seeing our children getting excited about what God is doing around the world, and I believe these books inspire them and plant that seed of desire to be a part of God’s work.

Thank you, Rebecca Davis, for bringing these stories to us!

This book is a great reminder of how great the God we serve is. The stories in this book truly make us see that He is far more powerful and more real than our weak selves can realize at times.

I could barely put the book down, for it renewed and sparked the fire within my soul for serving the Lord of my salvation.

This book brought real-life stories into our family conversation of the persecution of Christians and the struggles many around the world face every day to fight for their right to worship Jesus. . . . This is a book your family can read again and again, finding restored hope each time.

This book had us on the edge of our seats in every chapter, eagerly waiting to see how God would be glorified, and it did not disappoint, totally recommend for family time reading!

Oh, I truly loved reading this book. And I am looking forward to reading the other ones in the series.

This is one of those hard-to-put-down books! What a blessing and encouragement to see how God worked in Columbia from 1935 to the present to bring souls to Him! Our God is a powerful God whose power is unchanged over time. The God of the Bible is still at work in our world today.

The stories were well written so that children could understand exactly what was happening. We all held our breath waiting to see how God would answer prayer in each situation. With a collective sigh of relief and a prayer of thankfulness, we responded positively to each story of God’s miraculous work in this dark country where sin abounds.
